A year ago, I met a group of amazing ladies who all have one thing in common, they all belong to the Washington State dairy industry! To some this may not seem all that exciting, but spend an evening with this group and your mind will soon be changed!
I’m not going to go into a whole pile of details on what the Washington State Dairy Women offer but you can check them out on their website by clicking HERE.
Just recently, the Mid-Columbia unit met up before Christmas for our annual “Ugly Christmas Sweater Party” and just as we did last year – we all had a blast! Of course we did manage to sneak in a meeting amongst the Christmas ornament gift exchange, the delicious food and mingling and a game or two!
Our little group may operate a little differently from the “normal” Dairy Women’s group – after-all we like to include the men who stand beside their wives! Most of our meetings take place in the evenings over a pot luck dinner, allowing everyone to really get to know each other!
The goal of our area club members is to support any young women who would like to participate in the Washington State Dairy Ambassador program, promote dairy at local events in the community, such as giving away ice cream at the Adams County Fair, and also donating great gift baskets to the first babies born in the month of June at both the Othello and Moses Lake Hospitals!
