Come Together 2016. Our first ever New Years Eve event, hosted by the Othello Church of the Nazarene and sponsored by the surrounding Othello community was more than what our even planners could have hoped for. We set out on a mission to love on our community, providing games and bouncy houses, a little face painting and a little something savory and a little something sweet to eat. There’s a verse in the Bible that speaks of giving and receiving and it tells us “It is more blessed to give than to receive” Acts 20:35. For me, this could not be more true. Our team gave it our all, spent countless hours organizing and putting things together, rounding up raffle prizes, setting up different activities and so much more, so that we could give our community an opportunity to do something fun and inexpensive with their families on New Years Eve. Watching our guests come out and have a great time, leaving with raffle prizes, full bellies and big smiles was just so rewarding. I had the privilege of setting up a little photo booth and capturing these smiles, listening to the children’s giggles and even seeing parents get into the spirit of the holidays and playing along with their children was a true blessing!
